Beauty brand Lancome has just celebrated their 80th anniversary . Lancome’s general manager Françoise Lehmann opened up to WWD about company’s legacy. “It is an important birthday for us; it’s really the age of maturity for a brand,” she told WWD.
Over the past 80 years, Lancome has and still continues to grow and evolve with its consumers. Since 2010, they have focused on skin care as their primary growth source in sales and the U.S. is still its biggest market to date, by generating 54 percent of its revenues from skin care, 28 percent from makeup and 18 percent from fragrance.
It builds a real connection with women. Lancôme gets access to the status of a real fragrance house, allowing us to do things we wouldn’t have hoped to do before. We have great expectations for our growth in fragrance for the coming years.”
In 2015, Lancome will continue its growth by overhauling its flagship by involving more tutorials and more discussions and demonstrations about science. The latest brand ambassador is actress Lupita Nyong’o.
